History of the 10th

The story of the 10th Finchley Scout Group starts in 1914, just seven years after the founding of the Scout Movement by Baden Powell. For a brief introduction to the history of Scouting you could read the page on wikipedia.

A brief description of the various homes of the group is described on the page Gordon Hall.

In 1947, the Cub Master, AW Hartley, undertook the task of writing down the history of the first 25 years the group, 1914 – 1939. We have published his book, see more information and pictures here.

We invite you to record your own memories, however short and sweet, from any era so that we might be able to write ‘.. a further history of ..‘. Please email us your contribution to 10th-memories, we look forward to hearing from you.
